A New Journey for Positive Network: Our New Community Minibus

Bringing People Together, One Journey at a Time

Positive Network Community Project is delighted to celebrate an exciting new chapter in its journey – the arrival of our new community minibus.

For Positive Network, this minibus is much more than a vehicle. It represents opportunity, independence, inclusion and community.

For many of the people we support, particularly older people, vulnerable adults and members who may experience social isolation, getting out and about can sometimes be difficult. Transport can become a barrier to taking part in activities, visiting new places, attending community events and enjoying the company of others.

Our new minibus will help us break down that barrier.

Opening Up New Opportunities

Positive Network has always believed that everyone should have the opportunity to participate, connect and enjoy community life.

Our community centre provides a welcoming environment where people can meet friends, take part in activities and improve their physical, social and emotional wellbeing. We also recognise that some of the most memorable experiences happen outside the centre.

With our own minibus, Positive Network will be able to provide greater opportunities for members to participate in:

  • Community outings and day trips
  • Local events and festivals
  • Cultural and heritage activities
  • Social activities
  • Wellbeing and recreational activities
  • Visits to places of interest
  • Intergenerational activities
  • Community celebrations and special events

The vehicle will help us bring people together and ensure that fewer members miss out simply because they do not have access to suitable transport.

More Than Just Transport

The minibus is an important part of Positive Network's wider mission.

Since being established in 2002, Positive Network Community Project has worked to strengthen communities, encourage intergenerational connections and support people experiencing loneliness and social isolation. The organisation provides activities designed to promote physical, social and emotional wellbeing.

The new minibus will build on this work.

It will give our members greater freedom to explore their local community, meet other people and create memories together.

A simple journey can become much more than a journey. It can mean seeing a friend, attending an event, discovering somewhere new or simply enjoying a day out together.

Connecting Our Communities

Positive Network works with communities across South London and supports a wide range of people, including children and young people, older people, people with disabilities and members of the wider community. The Charity Commission records the organisation's areas of operation as including Merton, Wandsworth, Sutton, Croydon and Surrey.

The minibus will help Positive Network continue to strengthen those connections.

Whether it is taking a group to a community festival, organising a day trip for older members, supporting an intergenerational activity or helping people attend an important event, the minibus will provide a practical way of bringing people together.

Thank You to Everyone Who Made This Possible

A project of this importance is only possible because of the support of our community, funders, partners, volunteers and supporters.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported Positive Network and helped us continue our work.

Our previous appeal highlighted the importance of securing our own minibus and explained that transport difficulties could prevent members from fully participating in activities outside the centre.

This new vehicle is a testament to what can happen when a community comes together behind a shared vision.

The Journey Continues

The arrival of our new minibus is not the end of the journey – it is the beginning of a new one.

We look forward to the many miles ahead, the people we will meet, the places we will visit and, most importantly, the memories we will create together.

At Positive Network, we believe that community is about people coming together, supporting one another and making sure nobody is left behind.

Our new minibus will help us do exactly that.
